Maple Leafs HC is still mum on William Nylander's status

William Nylander's playing status remains a mystery.

Just like the past couple of days, Toronto Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe did not have any update on the talented young winger.

"No updates on Willy," Keefe said on Sunday on Sportsnet. He was asked a second time about how Nylander was feeling, the coach repeated: "No updates on Willy."

Nylander, who scored 40 goals to go along with 58 assists during the regular season, has only missed one regular-season game over the last three seasons. But after reportedly not feeling well on Thursday, he missed practice on Friday and did not play in Saturday night's 5-1 loss to the Boston Bruins in Game 1 of the first-round Stanley Cup playoff series.

Nylander was listed as having an undisclosed injury. Calle Jarnkrok replaced him in the lineup.

Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald tweeted on that Nylander was on the ice with a handful of players for an optional skate on Sunday.

Keefe also did not say if he was or was not considering any lineup changes for Monday's Game 2.
