Philadelphia Eagles fans suspect general manager Howie Roseman cut former first-round defensive end Derek Barnett to make room to bring in a four-time All-Pro linebacker after the Indianapolis Colts cut Darius Shaquille Leonard this week.
The Colts made the surprise cut weeks after Leonard complained about his lack of snaps on the defense this season. The Colts have been weary of playing Leonard too often due to his injury history. Leonard finished the 2022 season on injured reserve due to his back.
Leonard cleared waivers this week, making him a highly coveted free agent. Leonard has been linked to playoff contenders, including the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, and Eagles.
Eagles fans were excited about potentially signing Leonard after reports came out Friday morning the team was cutting Derek Barnett. Many fans are spectating that the Eagles made a spot on the 53-man roster so they can sign Leonard.
Here are the best takes of Eagles fans expecting to sign Leonard.
