Malik Nabers showcases elite skills at pro day

Don't be surprised if LSU's Malik Nabers overtakes Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. as the top wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft.

According to NFL Media's Cameron Wolfe, there's a "tight split" between Nabers and Harrison Jr., and multiple teams have the LSU star as the No. 1 wideout in this draft class.

Nabers' stock should keep skyrocketing after he flashed his speed and athleticism at his pro day on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash and recorded a 42-inch vertical jump. (This would've tied for the second-highest vertical at the scouting combine.) In 13 games in 2023, he finished with the second-most receiving yards (1,569) in the FBS and tied for third in TD catches (14).

Harrison Jr., meanwhile, didn't participate in the scouting combine or Ohio State's pro day. However, this shouldn't drastically impact his draft stock. In three seasons with the Buckeyes, he earned first-team All-American honors twice and won the 2023 Biletnikoff Award, given to the best WR in college football.

Clearly, it's a tough call, as Nabers and Harrison Jr. are elite prospects.

"I will not be surprised if some teams have Nabers as the top guy. He's got a different gear. What he does after the catch is unique," NFL Media draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said Wednesday on "The Pat McAfee Show." "I've stuck with Marvin Harrison Jr. as the top WR from start to finish."

Per Wolfe, Nabers met with several teams on Tuesday, including the New York Giants, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars. He is also scheduled to meet with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday.

Tankathon projects the Cardinals will take Harrison Jr. with the fourth pick. Arizona may want to keep its options open after watching Nabers excel at his pro day.
